What can be identified since the previous construction stages post, little changes were amplified at this current time from the last entry. My only noticeable editing is around adding in a complementary additional image to advertise another fairly important article in the magazine. With an extra photo it not only executes that satisfying visual appeal to create the impression there is an array of narratives to focus on in my product, but also adds as a preview to my audience giving them a step ahead as to what exactly they will be reading, therefore they can make a direct reference to the feature in question when the photograph is presented along side it. This specific image was to revolve around an 'inspirational music idols' article of the 21st century, hence why I chose to present it in black and white as it is a story that will detail going back through the years, acting as a 'flashback sequence' or a memoir of some sorts to cherish the amazing artists bestowed upon us.. As it was not of primary importance as related to the main image on my contents page (this one would be the next biggest feature behind the cover presentation), it was reduced in size to indicate it is not as significant enough to compete with its rival. Another area to note is that I increased the sizing of the centre photograph, to allow it to have a more dominant edge on the document to reinforce the notion of its relevance to the page. By selecting the shape tool on the left hand tool bar, I altered it to the line tool so to give me the opportunity to draw a solid black like down the middle distance between the two images - this would help the reader distinguish they are not related to one another and in fact their content is remarkably different.
From here I proceeded to insert text boxes onto the shapes I had created a few stages ago so as to give me the opportunity to write the appropriate text to fit the content of what they would detail. I reverted the black circle to the constant red shade that is present throughout my publication, not only to provide that essential element of continuity between the conventions but also to tone down its dominance on the contents. Its importance is not as severe as compared to the feature article stories or the title of the page as it is only advertising the issue number, as black is a bold, prominent palette, it emphasises itself above all other aspects and I didn't want it to avert attention away from my major selling points. Additionally it did perceive itself very effectively, the black itself looked overly out of place compared to the remaining elements, therefore taking all these negatives into consideration I opted to change the hue to red. White font was used to write the issue number and feature headings respectively, I've noticed that prodominately in Q magazine that a white neutral tone is best suited to occupy the red backdrops in many of their products, with me being heavily influenced by them as a template, I felt it would benefit me massively to adopt their choice of style to emphasised further the attractiveness of 'Void'. Moreover the white made the piece itself look more classy and versatile, it contrasted perfectly with the solid white backdrop and illustrated the continuity further. In an effort to keep my magazine as consistent as I could possibly achieve, the font incorporating my contents title 'Beau Nevaue.' was reinstated on the text added in this stage, with 'Times New Roman' chosen for the kicker, due to my own impression to keep it simple as I didn't want to include too many extravagent, contrasting fonts as this could be visually uncomfortable for my audience to look at.My final change was to the kicker 'Music at its finest', to keep with the red consitency, the letters were manipulted to the same shade as the shapes but in a lighter colour as it gave a nice subtle but emphatic effect to the choice of words.
I began to add in the page numbers to their relevant articles as a method to aid the reader in allocating the more critical stories of my magazine as these are ultimately my major selling points which I want them to indulge in due to their appeal and divergent content. Because I desired the main pages to be emphasised dramatically to the visual eye line of the audience, to illustrate an attractive quality I concluded I would use the same rectangle shape tool to incorporate these numbers, this would pull the focus instantly to them and would make them easy accessible to the wandering eye, especially if the reader needed to refer back to a page number easily to access their required article. To keep with this consistency running throughout the layout, red was selected as the fill in shade for the square with white text including the number dislaying the page number for the feature that would be presented by it on the right. The 'Beau Nevaue' style was the font of choice for these numbers as it personified itself nicely with it complementing the style used for the features title.
With the employment of my page numbers boxes going smoothingly, my following step was to include the remainder of relevant page numbers to the essentially features on the contents document. I regurgitated the adjacent shapes, colour palettes and font styles seen previously in the elements just created as the importance of continuity was critical to amplicate a professional stylised music product to the industry that keeps in regulations with all the major conventions seen currently. The 'Regular' box was included below the icon image, this was a necessity as with these articles present in all publications of 'Void' they didn't have a significance as compared to the features just present for this current issue, in comparison their importance was undermined massively, which illustrates why they are published beneath. A giant box and page number has been used on the main image of my female model, the sizing was necessary in amplifying her dominance in my product, not only that but it can be noted there is no artist name attached. This is due to the notion that in my imaginary indie/alternative genre world she would be a dominant name known to fans of this category, addressing the idea most of them will have an understanding of who she is, ultimately this leads to her name not being accompanied as she is significant enough without its presence.
I finally got into gear to include the masthead for my magazine 'Void', which was copied and pasted from my front cover publication. I then adjusted it so it was perfectly in line with the contents title, to do this I selected the ruler tool from the view bar finder and drew complementary lines across the document so to be exactly conforming to the top and bottom thirds of the 'C'. This would ensure me that my masthead title was symmetrical to its opponent. My last alteration was to include the regular feature titles, these were encased in black to indicate they were of separate origin to the white font, as this connotated importance, black connotated information about the article itself. As seen before, I chose to include these in the 'Beau Nevaue' style to continue the consistency theme that was reverberating throughout the document itself.
To make my regular features more appealing to the readers, I began including additional information onto the topic already described, this would efficiently provide the audience with a better insight into what the feature will contain and an understanding of the content they will be divulging in. To separate it out from the main body I chose to replicate the same style of font used on the kicker, 'Times New Roman' was a simple yet effective in creating a separation between the two pieces of text as they detailed different information from one another, whilst also offering that continuity effect seen throughout as it can easily be contrasted back to the kicker font which is identical in structure and appearance.
