Out of all the areas I knew of that could potentially offer me the environment to suit the needs I had developed mentally to conform to for the shoot, the setting I was most persuaded by to use as an appropriate location for my staging the photographs was the local park a five minute journey from my home. The place itself was fairly isolated from human activity so would make the ideal spot to capture images as it would be highly unlikely any members of the public would wander through here, this would avoid me provoking breaching confidentiality rights if someone was to be accidently included in the background/foreground of the photos without their knowing, which may be a thought they would be uncomfortable with. Providing I could time the weather for it to be sunny as can be witnessed here, there would be no concerns of unpredictable weather changes effecting the quality of my photographs, furthermore the park wasn't overly exposed so would deter wind currents from uprooting or unbalancing the camera equipment. If my models were to arrive via public transport or a lift by a family member/friend, the location is extremely easy to locate as it is clearly signposted so I doubt they would get lost in essence. However they could always be granted the offer of coming to my own home first, then proceeding to walk up with me to ensure they would get to the park safely. Fortunately I would not need to alter the variety of costumes I have already instructed them to prepare, with the weather still chilly in the early spring air I would desire them to be as content and warm as possible, so efficiently the shirts, coats and jackets I had proposed them to dress in would not cause problems in an outdoor surroundings. I had planned to have my female model posed on the field opposite the pond, the openess of the overwhelming amount of space behind her would mimic tranquility as I wanted her to personify a very independent and strong exterior, with just grass surrounding her I hope it would create the impression she is 'free' in a sense and that nothing could effect her, as there was no other individuals or objects present to undermine her position. This would contrast nicely with the dominant conception of the whole notion towards 'breaking free' and achieving your dreams which I would like the women in particular featured in my publication to display. Moreover the pond may come in handy for my male model, as I want the article to reflect he has a sassy, boisterous and rebellious attitude, I felt an image of him jokingly feeding the ducks with some bread would strengthen that boyish, extrovert personality and could make him look cocky in the comparison to an emotion we would commonly exhibit at someone performing this action.
Fortunately I was able to book in a date at the college studio that correlated perfectly with the availability times of my models, this would allow me to conduct my original plan of collecting authentically produced studio shots as proposed in my rationale. Therefore an on location take would not be required, yet I felt it was important for me to consider I had this alternative as a back up in case an unfortunate concern did arise on the day of the studio shoot that the model cancelled, or in the possibility of me having to gain more photographs, to occupy more of my contents page for example, and would essentially provide a sense of variety in the composure of photographs I had collected.
